Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Tracé handles your information and the choices you have.

About this policy

Tracé is a route-planning and GPS-recording app published by SAS SUMMIT GAMES. This policy covers the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch apps and these information pages. It describes Tracé specifically; the advertising and game-account features in our other products do not apply here.

Routes, location, and device data

Tracé processes the routes you draw or import, their names, coordinates, and available elevation and timing information. When you grant location access, it uses precise location to show your position and record distance, speed, and your track. Recording can continue in the background. A paused-distance reminder can keep location tracking active while recording is paused. Drafts, saved traces, recording state, settings, and cached map or elevation data are stored locally. Live Activities may show recording information on your Lock Screen.

Apple Watch and Health

With your permission, the Watch app reads heart rate and writes workouts using Apple HealthKit. Heart-rate samples and workout metrics help you review an outing. Routes, recording data, heart-rate samples, and settings can pass between your paired Watch and iPhone using Apple’s connectivity services. Health data is not used for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage. Health permissions can be changed in Apple’s Health and privacy settings.

Maps, elevation, and external services

Depending on your chosen map, Tracé connects to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or OpenFreeMap. Road and path queries send the requested geographic area to Overpass services at overpass-api.de, with overpass.private.coffee as a fallback. When a usable recorded elevation profile is unavailable, elevation lookup sends sampled route coordinates to Google’s Elevation API. These services receive your IP address and request-related technical information; geographic requests can reveal the area you view or a route you plan. Their own policies govern their processing, retention, and any international transfers.

Purchases and support

Apple processes in-app purchases. Tracé uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to unlock or restore access and manage the trial. We do not receive your payment-card details. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send, and use them to handle your request. Avoid sending routes or health information unless needed for support.

Purposes and legal grounds

We process information needed to provide the features you request and purchases you make to perform our contract with you. Optional location and Health access is under your control; where consent is legally required, including explicit consent for health data where applicable, we rely on that consent. We use support correspondence for our legitimate interest in responding to requests and maintaining the app. A device permission is a technical access control and does not replace any separate consent required by law.

Sharing, tracking, and cookies

Tracé has no app account or developer-hosted route library. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the app has no advertising or analytics SDK integrated by us. External map services still process the requests described above. GPX export can contain precise coordinates, elevation, and timestamps; the destination you select receives the file. These pages use no analytics, tracking cookies, or external fonts. The web host may process IP addresses and ordinary request logs to serve and secure the site.

Storage and deletion

Saved traces remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Delete Watch copies separately, and manage workouts in Apple Health; deleting a trace does not delete its Health workout. Exports, device backups, and copies on another device can remain until you remove them there. Device or iCloud backups depend on your Apple settings. Cached data may remain until cleared by the app or operating system. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable legal obligations. Provider retention follows each provider’s policy.

Your rights and choices

You can change location, Health, and notification permissions in device settings, stop recording, delete traces, and export routes as GPX. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or object to processing of personal data we hold, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us below; we respond within applicable legal deadlines. We cannot retrieve a library stored only on your device. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including the CNIL in France. Where applicable, California residents may exercise access, correction, deletion, and sale/sharing opt-out rights without discrimination.

Security, children, and changes

Tracé uses the device’s application storage and HTTPS for its network services. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support without any consent required by law; a parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion. We may update this policy as features or practices change and will revise the date above.
